Scott Murphy, GRI

Scott Murphy absorbed real estate information and concepts almost by osmosis while growing up. With one parent a mortgage banker and the other a real estate broker, it was difficult to avoid constant conversations about real estate.

After attending Cal State Monterey Bay where he majored in film editing, Scott returned to San Diego with unswerving certainty that he wanted to pursue a career in real estate. After obtaining his license, he immediately enrolled in the year-long program to obtain his GRI (Graduate, Realty Institute) so that he could more capably and knowledgeably serve his clients. And the quest for advanced education in real estate hasn't waned. Each year, he has completed at least two advanced courses in real estate--ranging from real estate appraisal, escrow, and real estate law to real estate finance, economics, and computer applicatlions for real estate.

In addition to a devotion to real estate, Scott is an avid skier and enjoys surfing local beaches such as Swami's in Encinitas, Cardiff State Beach, and Ponto Beach in Carlsbad. And when inspired to do so, he writes for both Luxury Home Digest and San Diego Previews.
