The focal point of southwest Carlsbad real estate would have to be the planned resort community of Aviara. Home of the Aviara Four Seasons Resort and Golf Course, Aviara is also home to 21 subdivisions and neighborhoods. Development in Aviara started in the early 1990's and is now has over 2000 households.

Homes in Aviara range from modestly-sized condos at Brindisi, to single family homes ranging in size from around 2000 square feet to over 5000 at Aviara Point.  Prices range from around $500,000 to well over $2 million for ocean view custom estates at gated Aviara Point.
